Wates Wins £14m Contract

Wates has been awarded a £14 million contract to design and re-build part of an academy in Nottingham.

Appointed by Arnold Hill Academy and the EFA, Wates is to create 8,200 sq m of replacement teaching space, science labs, an indoor sports hall and drama studio.

The work will be carried out on the existing site alongside the existing school building. When complete, the upper school will be demolished to make way for relocated sports pitches and extensive landscaping.

Wates is currently developing designs for the new facility, where construction is expected to commence in spring next year. Build completion is scheduled for 2016, followed by demolition works.
