Hydrok, have recently received substantial support from the European Regional Development Fund in the form of matched funding, permitting their continued expansion both in personnel and state of the art equipment as they continue to increase their service to UK Water Industry.
Increased demand from across the country working for all the UK Water Utilities Companies has led Hydrok to increase their local workforce, to meet demand for their expertise; and added need new state of the art manufacturing equipment to remain competitive within the UK wide Water Utility supply chain.
Matched funding from inward investment into Cornwall via the Cornwall Development Company, who manage the Regional Growth Fund, has permitted Hydrok to install new cranes within the factory helping improve efficiency in the growing industry trend for off-site manufacturing. Funding from the Business Investment for Growth Programme (BIG Programme) of just under £74,000 contributed to the cost of installing the new crane systems and a further funding of £50,000 from the Regional Growth Funds, managed by Plymouth University, enabled the purchase of a state of the art water cutter machine, essential to the continued growth of the company in the very competitive UK Water Industry.
With an established tradition of employing and training local people Hydrok have established a relationship with Cornwall College for specific training apprenticeships tailored to meet the industry's requirements. Currently 6 craft apprentices are in the Hydrok training scheme which follows the principal of empowering the apprentices to have a flexible approach to the workplace with a combination of factory manufacturing, on-site training and a day release at Conwall College, St Austell.
The Hydra Holdings Ltd, and specifically Hydrok, drive for growing the business as a Cornish and South West company has led to recognition by the Western Morning News, Fast Growth 75:2014 as one of the '75 Fastest Growing Companies in the South West'.
