York Council has approved a potential site for new homes to be developed.
The plot on Pottery Lane in Heworth has been identified as suitable to be part of the first phase of building 70 new council houses in York.
The new site is between Pottery Lane and Heworth golf course and could provide six new two-bedroomed family houses. The site would be subject to planning approval, and an application will be submitted in the coming weeks. It has been agreed in addition to six sites approved by Cabinet on 6 May 2014, and additional to an agreement for the council to buy 14 new apartments to be built on the former Pack of Cards public house site on Lindsey Avenue, Holgate.
Of those six sites approved for development, five have progressed and been awarded planning permission, with Beckfield Lane scheduled for completion in February 2015 and the others due to start in the next few months.
