A new Job Facility has opened on the Royal Liverpool University Hospital (RLUH) site.
Construction firm Carillion started work on the construction of the £335 million hospital project in February and is scheduled to handover the building in 2017.
The development of the new hospital is expected to contribute around £240 million to the local economy, creating the equivalent of 750 full-time jobs during the construction period and Carillion has committed to 60 per cent of these jobs going to local people and 15 per cent of the workforce will come from priority Council wards in the city.
The Job Shop will be operated by Carillion's recruitment arm SkyBlue, in partnership with Liverpool in Work, and will prove an accessible 'one-stop-shop' for both employers and those looking for employment on the project.
David Kennedy, Carillion project director said: "We recognise the potential of the new Royal development to make a positive, sustainable difference to the social and economic growth of the local community, resulting in benefits across the City of Liverpool and wider Liverpool City Region.
"One of our key objectives is to maximise the employment and training opportunities for local people and we aspire to see jobs of all types, and at all levels, created during the construction period, filled as far as practicable' by local people."
