BAM Construction has been awarded a £20.5m contract to construct a new college campus in Sunderland.
The firm will build the new 120,000 sq ft Sunderland College Vocational Campus in an area in the city centre known as the Holmeside Triangle, opposite Park Lane bus station.
It is understood that BAM beat Bowmer & Kirkland, Sir Robert McAlpine, Shepherd and Willmott Dixon for the contract.
Sunderland-based DESCO (Design & Consultancy) is the mechanical and electrical consultant on the project with Turner & Townsend acting as cost consultants.
