Family Mosaic has won a £10.5m contract to provide new apartments for the elderly in Romley.

The land is being provided by Hampshire County Council on the site of an old scheme, Nightingale Lodge, and the proposed development will help to provide capacity to meet the needs and expectations of an increasing older population in the area.

The new scheme will consist of 54 affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments, communal facilities and the Master's House day service.

The sites are also designed to be dementia friendly and offer easy access to local shops and services along with an onsite restaurant and facilities.

Julie Myers, Family Mosaic Regional Director, said: "We're very pleased to have been given the opportunity to build a new extra care scheme for older people in Romsey and look forward to working with the county council and the local community to deliver a scheme which will promote independence and support residents to have the best lives they can."
