A Lovell apprentice business administrator has been shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year in the Builder & Engineer Awards.

Gabby Iandico, 20, plays a key role in the smooth running of the extensive modernisation work which regeneration specialist Lovell is carrying out for North West Leicestershire District Council. The large-scale home repair and replacement works for council properties in the area include the installation new kitchens and bathrooms, boiler and central heating upgrades, new doors and windows and rewiring.

Lovell regional director Simon Medler said: "We couldn't be more pleased for Gabby. She is a highly valued member of our team with a real drive to deliver excellent customer service. Equally impressive is her positive, 'can do' attitude and her eagerness to develop new skills. She is an excellent role model for other apprentices and trainees, as well as a great example of the different careers available in construction alongside traditional trade areas such as joinery and bricklaying."
