North Lincolnshire Council has granted planning permission for the Lincolnshire Lakes development, which will see a total of 6,000 new homes built once completed.
The council's planning committee approved the development proposed by the Lucent Group, despite objections made over the development's flood plan.
The first phase of work will include 3,000 new houses, alongside a new village centre, leisure facilities and a business park.
The developer has said that the "Lincolnshire Lakes will create a special and distinctive community which is a popular and sustainable place to live, work and relax".
Full details of the development can be found on the Lincolnshire Lakes Living website.
