Construction workloads have increased at their fastest rate since 1994, according to the latest survey by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The institute's UK Construction Market Survey shows that despite 57% of respondents saying that there is growing shortage of quantity surveyors, "industry workloads continue to make a strong recovery".
46% of surveyors reported a rise in activity, up from 41% in August, marking the eight consecutive quarterly rise.
The survey also reveals that the private housing sector grew across the UK, with London and the South East seeing the strongest growth, and the private commercial sector reached a series high, with 59% of surveyors reporting an increase in activity.
