Planning permission has been secured for a new library and digital hub to be developed in South Shields.
Turley acted on behalf of Muse Developments Ltd and South Tyneside Council in the joint planning project, which was approved by the South Tyneside Planning Committee.
Substantial remodelling of The Market Place was also included.
Turley has secured planning permission for a new library and digital media The two simultaneous planning applications proposed a new central library and digital media centre, along with the creation of a 40 space car park and pedestrian link, and the remodelling of The Market Place together with canopy.
The granting of permission for thie project represents the first phase of 'South Shields 365', the Council's plan for the wider regeneration of South Shields town centre.
Work is due to start on both projects in March 2015.
