ISG has been appointed to build a replacement fire station for

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.

Work has commenced on the construction of Marley Park Community Fire Station, which will replace an outdated fire station in Fulwell, Sunderland, with the project due for completion in summer 2015. The new Fire Station will be located on the corner of Old Mill Road and Marley Crescent in the Marley Pots area of the city.

Managing Director of ISG's Construction Business, Alan McCarthy-Wyper, said: "The Marley Park Community Fire Station adds to our growing portfolio of blue light projects in the North East, including a high profile scheme at Bowburn for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service and our £22 million capital works framework with Cleveland Fire Authority.
