HMK Homes are just finishing this 5 house build for a property developer in Oslo, Norway.
Apartments 1 and 2 are signed off, with 3,4 and 5 expected to be finished by the end of this month.
The short terrace of 1500 sq.ft. three story homes are fitted out with four bedrooms, (2 with en-suites), roof top terraces and car ports.
The houses have been built in an upmarket area of Oslo, Norway’s capital city, and are expected to fetch in the region of 750,000€ when put on sale. This represents a margin of approx. 300% on the construction costs.
The build was very challenging due to the location as can be seen from the photo. The trucks carrying the finished wall panels were eventually towed onto the site by the construction crane! Due to the terrain and the nature of the build, the project has taken 7 months and unfortunately has run 3 weeks over schedule. Weather conditions in the early part of the year held up the concrete pour for the foundations which, in turn, impacted on the speed at which the elements could be brought on site and erected.
Although it has been one of HMK Homes most challenging builds to date it will look easy next to the first Norwegian project planned for 2015. That is a home planned to sit, quite literally, on the side of a mountain.
As with all HMK Homes projects, 250 mm of rock wool exterior wall insulation and triple glazing as standard make sure these homes are energy efficient even in the coldest climes.
HMK Homes build high quality homes to Norwegian building standards. They are actively seeking UK building companies who might be interested in using their product in the UK market and would welcome factory visits from interested developers and builders.
