The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has announced a nationwide competition for the public to capture images of major infrastructure projects.

Entrants are invited to photograph any man-made physical structure which benefits society, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, telecommunications and energy generating facilities, such as power stations or renewable sources of energy generation.

The competition has been launched to help champion the importance of major infrastructure projects to British society, both now and in the future. The competition is open for entries until the end of the year, and the winner and shortlisted entries will be celebrated in an exhibition which will open in February 2015.

Roma Agrawal will be Chair of the judging panel for the competition. She is an Associate Structural Engineer at WSP in London, and spent six years working on The Shard, designing the foundations and the 'Spire'.

Entrants will be in with a chance of winning a £3,000 prize for camera equipment.
