A £7 million office building, developed by VINCI Construction, has been officially opened by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Mr George Osborne opened Havelock Place in Hastings.
The seven-storey facility provides flexible office accommodation with basement parking and retail units at street level.
A particular feature of the interior architecture is the double height reception with raised floors, and two 10-person passenger lifts.
Mr Osborne, commented: "I have seen first-hand the regeneration taking place in Hastings and the positive effect it is having on the local economy. Government support, through such things as the Growing Places Fund, has boosted projects like Havelock Place, providing much needed finance to get important developments going.
"The government's long term economic plan is to back business and support local economies which are vital for providing jobs and security for hardworking people. What I've seen today shows this plan is working and has highlighted East Sussex as a great coastal business location."
