The Welsh Government has allocated £1m for regeneration projects in Tredegar.
The funding will go towards improving town centres for the local community.
Minister for Housing and Regeneration, Carl Sargeant, said: "In Tredegar, part of the fund will be matched by Heritage Lottery funding to renovate a number of historic buildings in the area."
Other improvements will see a building turned into a community resource for Time Banking Wales, improvements to roofs, windows and boilers for selected homes and a multi-purpose new community support facility at Aneurin Bevan House.
