Cheshire West and Cheshire Council has selected Balfour Beatty to build a retail and leisure development in Norwich.
The £49m Barons Quay scheme will involve the construction of seven buildings in Northwich town centre.
Balfour Beatty will work closely with the local council, a local social enterprise company and Job Centre Plus to provide 50 jobs and more than 100 training and apprenticeship opportunities for local people.
Extensive public realm improvements will include high quality granite paving, steps and benches incorporating feature LED lighting throughout. Sustainable measures include roof-mounted photovoltaic solar panels which will provide more than 10% of the retail scheme's electricity needs.
