ISG has been appointed to refurbish the Tait Building in Northampton Square as part of the City of London's capital works framework.

The £3.5m project will see ISG undertake a complete strip out of the building's ground and lower ground floors to shell and core. The accommodation will then be emodelled and reconfigured to create contemporary teaching space and a new students' union, as well as a re-designed reception area and back-of-house facilities.

Major structural alterations include the demolition of internal masonry walls to open out the existing space, with the work carried out while the building's upper floors remain in occupation.
