Derbyshire County Council has given the go-ahead for Glossop's Household Waste Recycling Centre and Waste Transfer Station to be redeveloped.
The £1.62m scheme includes plans to repair and maintain the access road to the site on Melandra Road due to start in September.
Councillor Joan Dixon, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport, said: "This redevelopment will make it easier for Glossop residents to recycle waste at the recycling centre and help us to save money by reducing how much we send to landfill which currently costs Derbyshire County Council £17 million per year."
