Lovell has been awarded a contract to refurbish homes in Dudley.
Lovell is one of two firms who have received a contract to refurbish void and tenanted council properties. The work is set to begin this month.
The work will include major refurbishment to void or tenanted properties and also central heating, electrics, kitchens and bathrooms inside individual dwellings. In addition, Lovell will undertake external works to roofing, windows and doors, fencing and fire safety work. The contract is worth £2 million a year and is for three years, with the option of a further four years. The company will work on around 1,000 properties a year.
Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing, said: "I am delighted we have been able to secure a contract which will improve local council housing. For a long time now the housing repairs team has worked with contractors to deliver improvements for council tenants, and it is good to know we have a proven way of working that reduces waiting times for customers, and makes the overall service more effective."
