E.ON's Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm Operations and Maintenance (O&M) base has officially opened.
Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, who opened the development, said: "With the majority of the North Sea's offshore operations thriving side by side, the Humber is becoming, quite literally, a powerhouse in the British economy and is a vital part of the Government's long term economic plan to help secure a better future by spreading businesses, jobs and skills across the country."
Located on Grimsby Fish Dock, North Quay, Grimsby, the site will support the ongoing operation and maintenance of the offshore wind farm, once complete and during the current construction stage. The base made up of office space, equipment storage and vessel mooring, will be used by a team dedicated to operating and maintaining the wind farm for the lifetime of the project.
