Housing developer Lovell has appointed a new Southern area manager.

Mr Bob Birch was previously commercial leader on residential and mixed use developments at Mansell.

Based at Lovell's new office at the Solent Business Park, Whiteley, Fareham, Mr Birch will lead the company's new-build open market and affordable housing business in Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and Wiltshire. The office is part of Lovell's Midlands, South Wales and Southern region.

Mr Birch said: "Lovell has a well-established national reputation for delivering both exceptional open market housing for sale and high-quality affordable homes for housing association and local authority clients. As the housing market continues to recover, we are in an excellent position to build on that success and help deliver the quality new homes which are so badly needed across the South of England.

"Alongside building new open market and affordable homes, we see major opportunities in the development of new housing for Armed Forces personnel and in the field of extra care housing where we have considerable expertise. There will also be opportunities to work with our sister company Morgan Sindall Investments on its large-scale joint venture regeneration partnership projects in Bournemouth and Slough."
