Savills has received an appointment on behalf of a private client to market Windwhistle Golf Club in Cricket St. Thomas, Somerset.

Originally opened in 1932, the par 70 course is set within 107 acres (43 hectares) and is located in south Somerset between Chard and Crewkerne.

The site includes an open driving range, putting green and a clubhouse extending to 10,355 sq ft (962 sq m).

Kay Griffiths, associate in Savills hotels & leisure services team, comments: "Windwhistle is in a strong location, positioned on the principal route to the south west of England and boasting views of the Somerset Levels and Lyme Bay. Moreover, the property further benefits from the opportunity for development on the site, either through construction of the approved building or re-configuration of the current design, subject to a revised planning permission being obtained, along with the possibility to improve trading with refurbishment of the clubhouse. We therefore anticipate the course to attract a high amount of interest."
