Govt Approve New Stadium For Tottenham

Government approval has been granted for a new 58,000 capacity stadium on a site next to Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane home.

The team, which has played at White Hart Lane since 1899, have said they hope to be in the new grounds by 2017.

It is understood that the new stadium design has been refined "to fully develop its potential for the future".

The club has spent two years clearing land next to White Hart Lane, with building work expected to begin now that the government has given its approval for the stadium.
