Waltham Forest Council is hosting its first National Skills Academy Programme To Give Young People opportunities to gain experience to work in the construction industry.

Balfour Beatty is supporting the programme and will work longside its customers to deliver high-quality, accredited training to those seeking to work in the industry.

Four apprenticeships and seven work placements will be created during the £4 million project.

Councillor Clare Coghill, Waltham Forest Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and High Streets, said: "I am really delighted with Balfour Beatty’s clear commitment to supporting our first ever first National Skills Academy programme in Construction. The expertise and training which, with us, Balfour Beatty will provide during this truly ground-breaking scheme, will give young and unemployed people a chance at entering and retaining employment in the building industry."
