Turner & Townsend has been awarded two landmark projects in the north east region.

The firm has been appointed project managers or the construction of Newcastle University's new Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering Building, as well as the new National Biologistics Manufacturing Centre in Darlington.

In Newcastle, wit has been awarded the £50m project – part of Science Central, the joint initiative by Newcastle University and Newcastle City Council.

Jonathan Lunn, Associate Director for Turner & Townsend and lead for the SAgE project said: "Our leading BIM service will add real value to this project underpinned by our best in class cost and project management services."

In Teesside, David Gardner, Director for Turner & Townsend will also work as the NEC project manager, as well as the supervisor, for the £38m project led by the Centre for Process Innovation Limited (CPI). Due for completion in 2015, the centre is part of the Government's 'Strategy for UK Life Sciences,' strengthening the country’s life science sector.
