A construction firm in Wales is to build a new operational centre, creating 20 new jobs.

DU Construction in Anglesey is to invest in a new plant to build more opportunities within the Wylfa Newydd development and other projects.

The £470,000 investment, which has been supported by £210,000 from the Welsh Government's Economic Growth Fund, will create 20 new jobs within Anglesey Enterprise Zone. Construction of the new centre on Penrhos Industrial Estate in Holyhead is to begin this month.

Director Mark Blackwell said: "Business is really taking off now after the recession and we have seen turnover increase year on year. There are a number of opportunities in the pipeline and we are delighted to have worked with Horizon Nuclear Power and look forward to working with them in the future.

"Our new centre in Holyhead will be ideally located to take advantage of some of these major projects and will help our business grow. The new joinery workshop means we will be able to carry out all of this work in-house instead of outsourcing, enabling us to become more competitive.

"The secure storage facility is essential and will replace a temporary store and means we can invest in more plant and materials to service new contracts."
