Her Majesty Officially Opens Terminal 2

The new Terminal 2: The Queen's Terminal has been officially opened at Heathrow Airport.

Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh met with construction workers involved in the £2.5bn project at the opening ceremony.

The scheme marks the latest phase of an £11bn private sector investment.

The investment includes the construction of Terminal 2A and B, Terminal 5 A, B and C, a new control tower, and the refurbishment of Terminals 3 and 4.

The Queen also unveiled a commemorative plaque that will later be installed in a public part of the building for passengers and colleagues to view.
