Keyline, specialist supplier of heavy building materials, rail materials, civils and drainage solutions, has supplied all construction materials for a major flood defence project in the village of Woodlesford in Yorkshire.

The flood defence scheme is being carried out by BAM Nuttall, a leading UK civil engineering company. Keyline was chosen to supply all the concrete piping for the project, which has helped raise the level of the riverbanks and diverted the sewer system to help avoid any potential future flooding in the village.

It is the first phase of a larger scheme to enable flood defence works to be carried out in the city of Leeds and means that when river water is diverted in Leeds, it will not have a knock-on affect in the village.

Due to the bad weather last winter, Keyline has seen an increase in the number of flood defence projects it has been involved in, including recent work for the Environment Agency.
