Design for Mobility is a family run business which was established in 2004. Starting with the production of a mobility trailer the Freedom Carrier, Stephen Whitmore owner/manager went on to train with Brooks/Acorn Stairlifts, in repairs, maintenance and installation, at their factory in Seeton Yorkshire.

He has since expanded through new contracts with Scoota Mart West Midlands, Pathway Shop Mobility in Coventry and Terry's Lifts, which has led to the business having to employ two more staff, with the intentions of employing a further three by the end of the year.

Owner Stephen Whitmore said: "With our business now expanded we are offering Sales Service and Repair on stairlifts, steplifts, through the floor lifts,mobility hoists and Mobility scooter fleet servicing. We also buy, recondition and sell all types of mobility equipment.

"Up until now Design for Mobility has been a home based business but due to expansion we are now looking for larger premises."
