A Match Winner For The People Of Kirklees

Playrite were recently involved in the new pitch at Hyrstmount School in Batley, West Yorkshire on behalf of Kirklees council.

The job involved the uplift of their old worn out surface and the re-lay of a brand new all-weather pitch. The old pitch was nearing the end of its life and had been subjected to vandalism over the last few years so was ready to be replaced.

The whole pitch was lifted and replaced with Playrite Matchwinner sports surface in green with line markings for football, hockey and 5-a-side and a terracotta run-off added to the edges of the pitch.

Matchwinner is a popular choice for all-weather pitches as it is a high performance multi-sport needlepunch surface which caters for all sports at community level and is an excellent choice for new or refurbished projects. At Hyrstmount it was decided to have inlaid lines added permanently, to aid the use of the pitch for various sports. The low sand content makes for easy maintenance and the surface is accredited EN15330 pt 2 standards. Available in Playrite green, sporting green, terracotta, blue, red, yellow, white and black the surface is versatile and offers a good choice of options.

Whilst on site the client decided that a run-off around the pitch would be useful, and one of the great things about Playrite is that as they manufacture their own products on site they could offer the flexibility of being able to manufacture the additional surfacing and not impact upon installation times.

Overall a great showcase pitch for Kirklees council and one that can be enjoyed for many, many years to come.
