A new £1 million regeneration fund to help boost town centres has today been announced by Housing and Regeneration Minister Carl Sargeant.
The Welsh Government fund will support twenty Town Centre Partnerships across Wales that are encouraging activities that contribute to:
• increasing footfall
• increasing public, private and community investment
• reducing the impact of vacant properties
• supporting businesses and services to establish, grow and prosper
• supporting diversification by promoting alternative uses (such as residential and leisure)
• supporting innovative approaches to regeneration
Each town centre will receive £50k, with an expectation that match-funding of a minimum of 50% will be put forward from other sources.
