Kier Homes is celebrating the success of its landmark Connect21 development, which was highly commended at this year’s Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) East Awards.

Judges from the RICS applauded the calibre of the entries received this year, commenting on the exceptional talent and vision displayed and the diversity of the schemes that made the short list in the residential category.

Recognised for being an outstanding project in its field, Connect21, which comprises 451 houses and apartments, is an exemplar of brownfield city centre regeneration and an integral part of Peterborough City Council's economic master plan.

The site was formerly home to a water treatment works and marshland, requiring a complex engineering and ecology strategy prior to development.

Commenting on the award, Nick Moore, deputy managing director at Kier Homes, said: "I am delighted that the excellence of the design and innovative solutions employed by the construction team to regenerate this site have been recognised by the RICS. We are extremely proud of what we have achieved with this development."
