Residents whose properties were demolished as part of a re-development programme have returned home to newly built houses.
Fortis Living took the decision to knock down the concrete 1950s flats in Woodbury Close in Hartlebury and replace them with 28 new homes, built by Lovell, for affordable rent and shared ownership.
The homes have been allocated with preference being given to previous tenants. Jenny Kimber moved out of the original flats and says it's been worth the wait: "We're really pleased with the new property it is a huge improvement on the flats we were living in before. It’s quieter because of the new windows and cheaper to heat."
Another development of 10 homes just off Worcester Road in Hartlebury has also been completed and let under the affordable rent scheme.
The new homes were built by affordable housing specialist Lovell, with Fortis Living investing over £4 million in the two projects including some funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.
