A major community regeneration project in Surrey has taken another step forward after plans were submitted for permission.
Flats, shops, a library and community centre and a supermarket are among the proposals for the Portland Drive area of Merstham.
In December, Surrey County Council approved a partnership with Reigate & Banstead Council and a housing association to bring forward the facelift.
Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Business Services, Denise Le Gal, said: "Making Surrey a better place to live and work is what we're all about, and this joint project promises to deliver real benefits for the Merstham community by promoting economic growth, helping families thrive and creating opportunities for young people."
