Kier Partnership Homes has started work on hundreds of new properties, which are being built across Walsall as part of a £42m project to combat a shortage of affordable homes.
The Kier team has moved on to sites in Somerfield Road, Bloxwich, Pennine Way, Short Heath, Wessex Close, Brownhills and Harrowby Road, Moxley.
The project, for Walsall Housing Group, will see the affordable housing specialists build 338 homes in total.
There will be 234 properties in Moxley, of which 75 will be rented and 159 for sale. The remainder will be spread across the other sites.
Walsall Housing Group Head of Development, Mark Tranter, commented: "Work is progressing at all sites and the residential scheme will be completed by March 2015. This programme will create a total of 157 new affordable homes for rent across Walsall.
"This is the biggest development programme we have undertaken to date and demonstrates a significant shift in the scale of our future development activity."
