Housing developer Lovell has been appointed to refurbish 2,000 homes for Sandwell MBC.
The work on a series of low-rise dwellings will include roofing, new windows and doors, fencing and fire safety work, as well as central heating, electrics, kitchens and bathrooms inside individual dwellings. The internal work will also be undertaken in a number of high rise flats. The contract is for three years, with the option of a further year.
Lovell is already working for Sandwell MBC on the refurbishment of a number of high-rise buildings on the Charlemont Farm estate.
David Gough, regional director of Lovell, commented: "This is a major contract win for Lovell and we're very pleased to be able to continue working with Sandwell MBC. We have completed several projects for them now, and have worked well together.
"Work on the high rise blocks at Charlemont Farm is well underway and going well, and now we can't wait to bring all our experience to bear on all the homes awaiting refurbishment."
