Planning consultancy Turley has secured planning permission for 225,000 sq ft of new top quality office space in Leeds city centre.
A resolution to grant planning permission was given for the Roydhouse Properties Central Square scheme by Leeds City Council on 20 March 2014.
The Central Square scheme totals 225,000 sq ft, with 201,730 sq ft of office space over 11 floors and 19,500 sq ft of retail and leisure space.
Targeted at significant and large occupiers in the city, the specification and style of this building are second to none. It will bring a new offer to the market, with major improvements to the public realm in Leeds' office quarter.
Central Square will provide a publicly accessible winter garden, new restaurants and bars with both internal and external space. Occupiers will benefit from a ninth floor sky garden with spectacular views over the city.
Mark Barnes of Marrico said: "We are delighted the scheme received unanimous support from Council members. This is a significant step forward for Central Square. We are committed to progressing the scheme, which on completion will offer the largest available floorplate in the city."
The site sits alongside the City Centre Conservation Area and other listed buildings, and complicated highways, servicing and public transport issues had to be addressed.
Marrico plan to start on site this summer with completion by mid-2016.
