Soft Surfaces Ltd Carry Out A 3G Grass Pitch Renovation In Wigan

When a school in Wigan were in drastic need of an upgrade to their existing turf sports pitch, Soft Surfaces Ltd of Wilmslow, Cheshire were happy to help them out.

The school's 2G sports surface was beginning to show cracks due to weathering and prolonged heavy use of the facility, this exposed the pitch to potential safety hazards for the kids playing on it and therefore it was time for a change. The renovation works that Soft Surfaces Ltd carried out involved installing an improved sub base for the sports pitch, making it more comfortable for the players, as well as a new 3G artificial grass surface on top of the sub base. This dramatic upgrade massively improved the performance characteristics of the sports facility, as well as making it a safe place for children to play at their school without worrying about tripping or falling on uneven ground as a result of the cracks and damage to the previous surface. The new sports pitch will be more durable and have much greater lasting power than the old worn out surface, giving the school a fantastic facility for kids to use during the day, and with the potential to be rented out to generate more revenue from matches and training sessions in the evening. Overall, the rejuvenation works carried out by Soft Surfaces Ltd have been a great success and everyone at the school is enjoying using their brand new sports facility.
