Sainsbury's has confirmed it is to continue its long term relationship with WYG by awarding a new 3 year contract across the South East, South West, Wales and the West Midlands for its main store estate.
Multidisciplinary consultancy WYG, has provided town planning services to Sainsbury's for over 25 years, helping them to build new stores, extend existing ones and create other improvements to their estate. Their support has helped them regain the 'No 2' UK supermarket spot by reference to customer share. Building on that success, Sainsbury's has reaffirmed their support to WYG by increasing the geographic areas across which the framework agreement stretches.
In addition to the South East, South West and Wales where WYG have acted on a regional basis for the past 10 years, they have now been awarded additional areas including: Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
John Whittaker, Director said: "Over the past 3 years, WYG has obtained planning permission for 28 new stores for Sainsbury's across our regions. We are delighted to have our achievements recognised through the award of this new contract which will secure our services into 2017. This framework puts us in a great position to help Sainsbury's drive their business forward as they target ever challenging locations in a very competitive market."
