JCB'S famous Dancing Diggers are taking the entertainment capital of the world by storm as the company launches its new products for 2014 at one of the construction industry's biggest equipment trade fairs.
JCB is this week at the Conexpo show in Las Vegas where the company is taking the wraps off a host of new machines. Among the products making their debut are new midi excavators, telescopic handlers, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, forklift trucks, wheeled loading shovels and tracked excavators.
And drawing the crowds in their thousands to the stand are the JCB Dancing Diggers whose hourly dance routines set to music and accompanied by a string quartet are proving to be a show highlight.
At a press conference in Las Vegas, JCB Chief Innovation and Growth Officer Tim Burnhope, highlighted the huge steps the company had taken in the last four years to deliver industry-leading fuel efficiency on its machines.
He said: "At JCB we're very proud of our fast-growing reputation for being the most fuel efficient manufacturer in the industry.
"Compared to the models we manufactured back in 2010, the JCB 3CX backhoe consumes an incredible 34% less fuel, the JCB 175 skid steer loader uses 30% less fuel and the JS200 excavator consumes an amazing 33% less fuel.
"These are impressive achievements and our obsession with fuel saving is reducing the cost of running JCB machines. By early next year JCB will have saved its customers a staggering 1 billion litres of fuel since 2010, something we are really proud of."
Among the new product highlights at the show are a new generation of JCB midi excavators, the 85Z-1, the 86C-1and the 67C-1, which are manufactured at JCB's Compact Products factory in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
