Lend Lease has started construction on a farmyard themed park at Stoneleigh Reserve.
The five hectare park which is due for completion later this year, will have three main areas – The Farmyard and Figtree, The Farmhouse and The Orchard – with lots of activities for toddlers, juniors and teens.
Regional Development Manager for Stoneleigh Reserve, Gary Searle said the park design has taken its inspiration from residents input and from the sites country landscape and past and present use as a working farm.
Mr Searle said: "The function of the open space will be to engage the community through the creation of places for gathering, rest and relaxation."
The Farmyard and Figtree will house the painted chooks, cattle yard, a cattle race, tyre swing, blackboard, tiggy poles, big cart wheel and a large fig tree for hours of climbing as well as plenty of shade.
The Orchard will give children hours of entertainment with find a word, hopscotch, handball, kick a football, scooter and skate trail.
Picnic tables, park shelter, bbq, community noticeboard at The Farmhouse will provide a perfect place to relax and unwind.
The park will also include an outdoor fitness zone, cricket pitch, footy goals and kickabout spaces.
