Works are to commence on Station Street as part of the final stages of Nottingham Station's redevelopment, due to be opened to the public later this spring.
From today, Monday 24th February, for approximately five weeks, there will be no vehicle access for general traffic from Station Street into Carrington Street, in order that public realm improvement works can be carried out. Once the work is finished the junction will remain closed to traffic.
The section of Station Street from Trent Street to Carrington Street therefore, will be closed to traffic, except for access to businesses and shops, although the pay and display parking bays on this section of road will be suspended during these works to allow safe turning movements without obstruction. Taxis will still be able to rank on the south side of Station Street, as per current arrangements.
Temporary pedestrian walkways will be installed around the works while the improvements take place and pedestrian routes to and from the station will be maintained at all times.
The remainder of Station Street from Canal Street / Trent Street to London Road will be unaffected by the works.
