Accredited Passivhaus Design (APD) are exhibiting at Ecobuild 2014 on stand S502 and will be happy to talk to developers, building owners and contractors about the benefits of building to the Passivhaus standard.

Their certified Passivhaus Designer Peter Ranken said: "In 2013 we were fortunate to be able to assist on the Passivhaus Trust stand, and in 2014 we look forward to sharing our approach to low energy and high comfort building design and energy assessment with self-builders, house owners, architects, housing providers and contractors."

A particular focus will be on the design of affordable housing, where rent arrears can be reduced by Passivhaus design and where the Passivhaus approach can reduce the need for off-site Allowable Solutions as part of compliance with Zero-Carbon homes in 2016. APD will also show their expertise in care homes where significant savings in running costs can be made whilst providing excellent comfort for elderly people when the building is certified as a Passivhaus.
