Urbanworthy Property Management Appoint Cemplas To Help With Car Park Repairs

Specialist contractor Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd were called in by Urbanworthy Property Management Ltd to inspect the podium car park level of Cavendish House which had been subject to water ingress causing leakage and salt damage to cars in the basement below.

Following a survey of the existing failed coating system, Cemplas proposed undertaking remedial measures which included fully striping off the existing coating, and planning 10mm off the asphalt substrate which was also found to be defective. On completion of the preparation Cemplas proposal was to apply a new Waterproof coating system.

Due to the time of the year, and because Cemplas were also able to put a large coating team on the project to ensure there was no delay to to the weather conditions, Urbanworthy appointed Cemplas and works commenced within a short time frame of being appointed.

To ensure as little disruption as possible, the work commenced by tackling the podium in 2 half’s removing the existing membrane and 10mm of the existing asphalt together with removing all debris and old coatings to on-site skips. Once the asphalt had been planned defects were found and repairs were required to the substrate prior to commencing with the coating application.

To complete the works within the time frame, the coating team team of Cemplas applied over 800 m2 of Tremco’s CP360 coating system in one application during one very long day.

The Tremco CP360 system incorporated CP360 flexible MMA waterproof membrane, followed by CP215 flexible basecoat overcoated with Tremco CP930 flexible waterproof coloured sealer which was applied in grey. Once one half had been completed, Cemplas then opened the completed half of the podium and undertook the works to the other half.

The successful work ensured there were no further leaks to the basement car park area. Finally to complete the works Cemplas re-instated the line marking which included the parking bays together with some hatching and arrows to bring the car park back to an aesthetically pleasing, safe, and weather tight car park.

All works were completed to the client's complete satisfaction, and on time and on budget.
