Severn Trent Invests Almost £100,000 To Lay New Water Pipes

Severn Trent Water will invest almost £100,000 to help protect Sheepy Parva customers' water supply. Working together with its partners, Laing O'Rourke, the company will lay more than 850 metres of brand new water pipes along Wellsborough Road.

Work started on Wellsborough Road on Monday 6 January and the improvements are expected to be completed in early February.

Severn Trent Water's programme engineer, John Springett, explained: "The water pipes in Sheepy Parva have been serving the local community since the 1900s. They've grown old and are now prone to bursts. We don't want our customers' water supply to be affected so we're investing almost £100,000 to install more than 850 metres of brand new water pipes.

"We appreciate that work like this may be disruptive so we've made plans to install the new water pipes as quickly as possible. We're working closely with Leicestershire County Council; as part of this we've organised road works to be carried out on Wellesborough Road using traffic lights, rather than closing the road. We won't be there for long, but our improvements will be."
