Balfour Beatty has secured a £2.3m contract to fit out 27 luxury apartments and an historic bell tower at Audley Inglewood, the retirement village in Kintbury, West Berkshire for Audley Retirement.
Amongst the modern facilities delivered as part of the work, new owners will benefit from under floor heating, continuous extract ventilation and fully fitted bathrooms and kitchens with integrated appliances.
The 19th century historic manor house was restored by Balfour Beatty last year and incorporates the latest energy efficient features to reduce fuel bills and operating costs whilst achieving BREEAM 'excellent' status, the world's leading assessment method for sustainable buildings.
The project is a continuation of the partnership between Balfour Beatty and Audley Retirement, during which Balfour Beatty has delivered another retirement complex, Padgett Court in Clevedon, as well as ongoing construction advice for other projects.
Balfour Beatty's current portfolio of 13 retired living schemes comprises over 700 units with a combined project value nearing £100m.
David Driscoll, Property & Business Development Director at Audley Retirement, said: "We are pleased to be working once again with Balfour Beatty who have demonstrated their skill and management expertise on our other developments. Equally, they have shown a real understanding of the Audley proposition and our objective in providing quality, luxury retirement living to a highly discerning audience."
