Owlsworth IJP Ltd called upon the expertise of Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd who have been Waterproofing both above, and below ground structures since 1969 to carry out the refurbishment of two Grade 1 listed ponds in Stockbridge Hampshire.
Cemplas Ltd are approved under the 'Sika Registered Contractors Scheme' which was introduced by Sika Limited to maintain the quality and competency in the application of their products within the industry.
Summary of works
Walls:
1st Coat: Mortar 1:1 with Sika approximately 4 mm thick, mixed to a wet consistency and cast on vigorously.
2nd Coat: Mortar 1:1½ with Sika approximately 7 mm thick applied when the first coat has stiffened.
3rd Coat: A splatter coat of the same mix is then applied to provide a key for the next coat.
4th Coat: Mortar 1:2½ with Sika approximately 7 mm thick, finished with a wood float finish.
Sikadur Combiflex strip was incorporated at the junction of the wall/floor and adhered either side with Sikadur 31 epoxy adhesive.
Floor:
Grout Coat 1:1 wet consistency with Sika applied with a brush and laid in strips.
Bonding Coat: 1:1 plastic consistency with Sika 1 applied with trowel approximately 10 mm thick
Main Floor Coat: Mortar 1:2½ with Sika laid semi-dry whilst bonding coat still wet, at a thickness of 10mm and finished with a wood float.
Upon completion a joint inspection with the client was undertaken, and the works were signed off to their complete satisfaction with Cemplas providing a 10 year guarantee.
