Construction union Ucatt have signed a national recognition agreement with Norse Commercial Services.
Ucatt General Secretary Steve Murphy visited Norse's Norwich head office recently, to sign the agreement with the company’s Human Resources Director Tricia Fuller.
The agreement covers employment standards across the company's numerous UK sites, including client based employees. It includes Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) commitment, acknowledgement of the company’s recognition of the individuals’ wishes on TU membership, and outlines of UCATT’s and Norse’s shared objectives regarding long term success and employee security of employment.
Steve Murphy, General Secretary of construction union UCATT, said: "We are glad to be working with Norse, a company which is engaging with UCATT through a national agreement. This bodes well for workers at Norse both now and in the future."
"This agreement clearly demonstrates Norse's commitment to ensuring best practice in employment terms and conditions for our rapidly increasing number of staff," said Tricia Fuller. "We have seen substantial growth over the last few years, not only creating a whole range of new employment opportunities but also TUPE transferring staff from other contractors and local authorities. This agreement with UCATT comes at a time when our expansion nationally is increasing dramatically and it will help reassure previous employers and their staff as to the long term security that Norse represents."
