Windowrepublic.co.uk has been chosen to supply new double glazed timber sash windows, timber casement windows and patio doors for one on London's largest social housing groups – Battersea tenants co-operative.
Windowrepublic.co.uk complied with the stringent requirements laid down and in a competitive tender beating off a dozen other companies. The clients' requirement that the windows will be serviceable for a minimum of 60 years and in this instance we chose engineered Siberian larch as the timber to be used.
The key factors were the quality of the Products, value for money and Service provided, as backed by testimonials from previous Window Republic satisfied customers. The initial tranche of work includes 7 separate properties and will be completed over a period of 18 weeks and will be used to base future work for this group and other housing regeneration projects.
An issue was converting existing poor quality installations using sprung loaded sash balances in to weight lifted sash windows, some of the installations will require rebates to be cut into brick work to provide enough space for the weight boxes to fit.
Individual tenant's requirements had to be taken into account, including types of fittings, opening styles, bespoke frosted glass and even location of cat flaps!
To date site surveys have been completed, Design drawings have been submitted, and signed-off, and a work schedule agreed.
