Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) has been awarded the £11.8 million mechanical and electrical contract to design, build and install services for the refurbishment of the Alphabeta Building in Finsbury Square, with works to commence next month.
The refurbished building is set to become a new centre for some of London’s most progressive companies. BBES will fully update the power, lighting, fire alarms, air, data and security systems to Category A standard. High ceiling levels will ensure the building has a sense of space and functionality for the occupants.
BBES will create the highest quality pre-checked M&E systems at their unique 'Modular Systems+' facility in Wednesbury, which will dramatically reduce both the cost and time taken to install the complex systems required for the Alphabeta building, over traditional on-site assembly methods.
